In 1878, Antoni Gaudí got his degree in architecture.

From that moment, as a fully fledged architect, he could now start working on his own projects. He just needs to get some clients.

And among the firsts was Mr Vicens. He had just inherited a farm in Gràcia, one of the towns close to Barcelona at the time, and he wanted to modernize his summer home, which is why he hired Gaudí.

In a prelude to what nature would become in his work, Gaudí designed a building in which neo styles are mixed with hand crafts to create a place to get rest and immerse yourself in the world of the thousand and one nights.

After that first project, many other works would come in which Gaudí outlined his own style that appealed to many of those Barcelona bourgeois of the time who, above all, wanted to be seen.

That was the aim of Mr Milà, and what he got with no doubt It may be that even without being fully aware of it, he ended up being the owner of an authentic jewel of architecture and engineering from the beginning of the 20th century.

After going through some of the streets and squares of the current Gràcia neighborhood, we will arrive at the great avenue of Barcelona at the turn of the century, the Passeig de Gràcia, where we will visit La Pedrera, the last civilian work designed by Gaudí and converted into one of the most impressive monuments in the city.
